Council Meeting, Monday. June 11/12, 7:30 pm with selected agenda items & correspondence since May 22/12. City web site will provide the complete details.
A) Delegation:
Michael Wright & Russ Schutte presented a petition and concerns for the proposed bus route #10 in the Linden Lanes & Victoria Ward. Transit has tentatively put the route on hold.
B) Enquiries:
Durum Drive Repair; Back Lane Grading; Taxes; Private Partner Projects; Recycle Bins; Capital Infrastructure;
Victoria Ward matters were the proposed Transit Route #10; Wilnor Bay Water Concern; Centennial Boulevard Frost Boil; Deer Place Roadway & Riverheights Terrace Flower Baskets.
C) General Business:
Council received a presentation for the proposed development options for the Brandon Recreation Centre property. The golf course would remain in place.
Director of Transportation Services gave an update on the proposed route modifications.
Director of Public Works provided the proposed changes to the Solid Waste Collection & Disposal. Implement a four day cycle, Tuesday to Friday. Garbage would not be picked up on Remembrance, Christmas & New Years Day.
Councillor Jeff Harwood was appointed to Manitoba Good Roads Association Board of Directors.
Alternative Landscaping received the Contract Landscaping tender, planting boulevard trees at the cost of$41,985.00..
Wajax Power Systems provided the applicable bid for the supply of a Standby Diesel Generator at the Water Treatment Plant. Equipment cost was $302,158.37 with GST not included.
Brandon Pride Weekend taking place June 15th to 17th in the City of Brandon.
Next Council Meeting is on Monday, June 25/12, 7:30 pm.
