Ultimate Frisbee: Pickup
Weekly Ultimate Frisbee pickup game. All welcome.  
 
Not sure what the game entails, here are the basics:  
-2 teams  
-up to 7 per side  
-field laid out with end-zones (like football)  
-no contact  
-no running with the disc  
-objective is to move the disc from one side of the field and catch it in your opponent's end-zone.

There aren't too many dog days of summer left - but we are planning to take advantage of the nice weather before it's gone! Funds for Furry Friends will have a meet and greet at Dinsdale Park on August 11th, 2012.

Many of our adoptables will be in attendance, and an opportunity to check out our furry friends, and to meet some of our foster families to find out what our program is all about!

The Grand Beach International Sand Castle Competition is on August 11th; rain day August 12th. #1 Fire Hall Tours

Tours will be offered of the new #1 Fire Hall from 1:30 – 3:30.  The archive committee that helped put together the historical display in the fire hall will be giving the tours to any interested public.  The committee consists mainly of retired Brandon firefighters.  They will be able to provide extra insight to the historical display as one of them started working with the department as early as 1949.   If you have a large group (6 or more), please feel free to call 729-2400 and book your own private tour at your convenience.

Zumba in the Gardens
The YMCA Gym's popular Zumba program is going to the gardens! Zumba instructors from the Y will be presenting a free Zumba class at the East End Gardens (Victoria Avenue & Park St) Wednesday, August 15th at 7pm.  
 
Zumba is a fun aerobics dance activity with a Latin twist. Zumba is great for all ages! (Remember to bring your own water bottle).

Ultimate Frisbee: Pickup
Weekly Ultimate Frisbee pickup game. All welcome.  
 
Not sure what the game entails, here are the basics:  
-2 teams  
-up to 7 per side  
-field laid out with end-zones (like football)  
-no contact  
-no running with the disc  
-objective is to move the disc from one side of the field and catch it in your opponent's end-zone.

Recommend bringing 1 dark shirt and 1 light one to allow mixing of teams. Cleats (non-metal) are recommended not required.
