Who has been there? I've played it twice in the last week, and really enjoyed it. Give it 3 years, and it will be in the same league as Clear Lake or Pleasant Valley (if not, better!!).

A little dissapointed in the 4th hole along the water. Forget about the algae problem the hole kinda sucks. As for the greens. Very good for first year. Some great holes some not so great. Better than PV but not as good as Neepawa or Clear lake. It was better than the rec center last year, ha Just my opinion. |

How much does it cost? What's the par? Do you consider it a hard course or easy or what? How does it compare to the Rec? |

Played it this weekend and was very impressed. Cost $45.00 with half a cart. I really like the layout of the course. Lots of dog legs, bunkers and water. Pretty impressive for its first year. Theres a few holes that need some work yet but it will come with time. Not as nice as pleasent valley in my opinion or clear lake. Its in better shape in one year than the wheat city has ever been. |

Easy Ralph don't bash the wheat city. It has made huge progress since Kading took over the show. I sure hope he fires the clown that cut 10 green though. Oak Island is decent. Nice lay out give it a couple years will be nice course. Assuming they can find some people that know how to run a course. Doesn't even compare to the valley. |

| | | Jonny what are you talking about? | | |
The rec center is a piece of crap!!! Kading is not able to fix the issues that course has. The old greens need blown up!!! It is in terrible condition compared to every playable course in a 100 mile radius. The city made a mistake not selling it to somone who cares. Remember the city employees cut the fairways and greens, water the grass fertilize etc!!! The guy who needs to get this course to better condition is Mr benstead, Good luck to Tim but he has an up hill battle. |

I would describe the degree of difficulty of the course as tough but fair. You do not need to carry 200 yards over any water, or real difficult shots like that. However, if you stray off the beaten path, you will be penalized. The rough is long and thick, and if you hit it in the bush on the back nine, pull out a new ball. Par is 72. They have a hole by hole info segment on their website.

I had the change to play at the Oak Island golf last weekend. My first impression was good. I really like the course. They make you feel welcomed.
Course wise, it is not very difficult or too long. Lots of doglegs, but not all of them are 90 degree ones. Some were only slight doglegs that it doesn't matter if you hit it long and straight. Holes are quite different from each other. Great layout. I'll go again. Just keep the prices down :-) |

and the fees were $48 with cart. This seems reasonable. I'll pay the $48 there a thousand times over the $45 the Rec Center is currently charging. |

| | | Awesome | | |
I have played it twice first time the course took me for a ride the next time played awesome on it... I played clear lake once this year and nothing comes close to it yet... Going to be playing neepawa in 2 weeks then will be able to see how it compares to the other courses.. But eh with prices at Oak island it is hard to compare. Would rather drive there then play shilo for the extra little drive |
