Lack of Communication
4/28/2010 at 2:19 PM
Kids get sick... and anytime during an exchange I inform my Xh about the kids. Whether they have a cold, cough, not feeling well, bad dreams, or whatever. Just so he knows what's going on during the past 2 wks.
Meanwhile, my X refuses to inform me on anything.
Yes, we have tried the "communication book", but doesn't work when he doesn't use it!
One time I took my daughter and informed him she has very sore ears and should be taken to a doctor. (where I live there is no walk in...) He didn't and she came back in severe pain, I ended up in the emergency. She had 2 ear infections.
Any other time I took them, and gave him the prescription, saying it was free if he dropped it off, and got it filled. NOPE.
My daughter had constant stomach pains, I took her and found out she was okay. I told my X about it...his response.. "took her to my neighbour who was a nurse already"... Okay...it's nice that nurse can do blood work, etc.etc.
Anyhow... It gets soo frustrating only have communication one way.
This past weekend, my son had a cold. So I told him. On return, I was up with him in tears. I asked did you tell your dad you were sore? Yes... what did he do? Oh, he gave me 2 little pills. (I presume tylenol) Back to the doc. on Mon. You would of thought my X would of warned me!
How do you deal with such issues?
My children don't trust their father to take them to the doctor when they are ill. I now, travel to Bdn ahead of time to make the trip to a doc...simply because I fear for the medical attention they would get at their fathers...
Really... how hard is it to say... anything to help the other parent know...about health issues??
I've sent medication, only to have it returned, unused.. (doesn't look like a drop has been removed)
sigh....after almost 5 yrs you would think things get better...
