what stupid things have you done at work ?

ok i'm board with nothing to do (snowed in here) and i though i'd share a funny story and would like to hear yours.
when i was 1st working , i worked at a large ski hill and we got a few days orientation and everything the owner/ president talked to us and we were sent on our way.
things were going well for me there and i managed to get the good assignments, i worked the top of the lift chair usually, because you had to be able to climb up and set the break if it tripped, most of the others weren't able to do this so i usually got assigned there. This was good because you didn't have to bump chairs and you got to sit in a warm shack and check out the boys lol.
so one day they had a pretty busy day and needed someone to help on the gondola, normally you get training for this but they were in a pinch so i was sent. Not that this was hard all i had to do was crowd control and push a couple of buttons. so the other guy working (much older more experienced) told me to only let 90 in the gate for him to take down and leave 10 spots for staff, the max limit was 100.
So very 1st time he left and i was the only one there , on busy days there would have been 4 running the gondola, but this day it was just this guy and me. so i start letting people in shortly reaching my max # of guests and staff. so i shut the gate and staff were starting to line up a little impatiently while i explained they'll have to wait for the next tram. they normally had 2 going for busy times, but because they were short staff there was only one and people were starting to get frustrated especially the staff who were used to jumping the large line ups. so after managing the best i could these 2 older staff one ski patrol (all jerks lol) and someone else in a company jacket try to jump the line! so i went over to them and told them they would have to wait that the tram was full, (couldn't they see the huge line, i thought?) well the ski patrol started to give me a hard time , like they do to new employees, and i wasn't having it! so i stood my ground , polity mind you, but i was firm, none the less. then the ski patrol asked me if i new who he was? and i said no sir but i was told 100 max and if you'd just wait until the tram operator gets back i will ask if i was allowed to let them on. well the guy wasn't happy but they did . when the tram got back to the top i asked the tram operator and he told me actually the guy with the ski patrol was is the president and owner and can do as he pleases!!! OMG i was so embarrassed !! but in the end the president (who was nice) stayed and helped me get the crowds under control. i ended up doing well there until i moved on to other interests but i was forever teased about being the girl that told the president no !! lol
also where i learned the importance of always being polite even while disagreeing lol i'm sure glad i did that day !!
what about you what foot in mouth things have you done ??
