What a waste: 67 Barracuda

I would like to comment on the car dealership on Richmond Ave east.I was shocked to see a beautiful 67 Barracuda stuck up on a pole to rot away in the elements, what a shame. This guy should have his head examined to be destroying such a beautiful car.Why not sell it so it can be enjoyed by someone who would use it.I am a lover of classic cars, and to see this beautiful car wasting away on a pole is just a complete shame. This guy should be ashamed of himself.I for one would never buy a car from someone with such disregard for beautiful cars.I hope others feel as I do and not buy from him.

Ownership

Can the car be restored? It might be past the point of no return. Besides, it is his car and it's there to attract attention. It's obviously doing it's job, isnt it?

Thats what I figured too

that the car was likely too far gone for a restoration, yet sitting up on that pole could be passable. A "good from far, but far from good" scenario.

The owner of that dealership

is a huge "car guy". I'm sure he wouldn't waste something that has huge potential value. If you don't like it - too bad, but I think it's pretty neat.

He didn't destroy it.

The car was beyond salvageable.......if anything, He restored it.

???

Sheesh, I like the old stuff(classics) just as much as anyone, but it's just a car; to boycott a business over that is pretty immature...not???

Uh...

There is nothing beyond saving. It would just cost a heck of a lot money to fix it up.

just a thought

im a classic car lover as well.. and ya it does suck to see such a beautiful car sitting there like that... but its doing its job...its getting people talking about his dealership and getting people to go look at it right?
that is his way of advertisment, and honeslty its working very well...
its not different then those guys who fix there cars up and never drive them they just sit on a trailer thier whole life... at least the cuda has a purpose

I talked to him

He bought it off a guy who had it sitting on his farm and he was wanting to restore it. Now, after realizing it needed tons of work including structural frame work it made no sense to put the cash into it.

He is also not done yet. The display will be even cooler looking once he gets the last piece of the display up. I won't ruin the suprise but wether you agree or not with the use of the car, you will think it is the coolest display for a business ever.

looks are deceiving

I know a few people that have tractors out front, old trucks and myself...a snowmobile...they all look pretty good cruising by on the road...but get close...real close and you realise their FUBAR....my sled...looks good when you see it, get close and it looks like it's seen more rocks then a gravel pit...and hoenstly at least he saved it and made a display....it could be a tin can right now, so many of the old trucks and cars went to the crusher, my dodge truck was purchased from a wrecker just before it was to be crushed...so any salvage is good

joe

Well joe since you seem to be so annoyed that this car is being wasted why don't you step up and make him an offer.Besides it's just a plymouth, had it been a 67 mustang that would be entirely different

Just like the old International that the city has fixed up. From afar it looks perfect, but go up close, there are many imperfections.

Ummm........

Correct me if I'm wrong here but....It's HIS car. He can do whatever he wants with it. To boycott his business because of this is just ridiculous. I'm sure he's not losing any sleep over the idea that you won't buy a car from him now. Get over yourselves and deal with it. If it were some POS non-classic car would you still have a problem with it? Probably not.

Make an offer!

To all of you who wish the car was restored, why not ask him if it is for sell. If the price is right the car can come down from the pole and into you garage.

Well

lets be thankful that it hasnt gone to the crusher or the demo derby guys. I for one am a Mopar guy, and I dam near died when I saw it on the pole. Lets remember he could have left that car sitting out back of his house with the plan to one day restore it, only to let it rot away. Go to www.carsinbarns.com to see what I mean
