Tennis Elbow Physiotherapist

Anyone been to a physio in Brandon that has successfully treated your tennis elbow? I've been seeing a physio for about 5 months, and while it is better, it is not healed. I've tried several treatments of acupuncture, and strength exercises. Maybe another physio would have a different type of treatment.

Some thoughts for you

wishful thinking... while I don't have tennis elbow nor am I a medical person, I do have chronic pain and an amazing physiotherapist that keeps me together in body and mind. Here are six questions to ponder that might help you on your healing journey:  
1. Have you asked your physiotherapist how long a tennis elbow injury heals? We all heal different but sometimes it helps to know if the injury is a 3 month recovery time type injury or a 12 month recovery time type injury.  
2. We all heal at different speeds. I would suggest keeping a health daily diary. Write down all the times your elbow pains and what you were just doing at the moment you first thought, "Ouch, that hurts". Looking at your health diary, your physiotherapist can recommend what to do to alliviate the pain.  
3. Do you do your prescribed exercises every day? These exercises are extremely important for healing. And if it hurts like all ouch to do these exercises, tell your physiotherapist. She/he will adjust your exercises.  
4. Acupuncture is unique for each individual. I've found that acupuncture is a long term treatment for health not a quick fix of a couple of treatments.  
5. Do you know how you injured your elbow in the first place? And secondly, the repeatative motion that perhaps caused your injury in the first place... ask your physiotherapist how to live life without repeating the injurying motion.  
6. Communicate with your physiotherapist. If your tennis elbow still is causing you pain and frustration, let your physiotherapist know as they might add or subtract some of their treatment plans.

I had it so bad I couldn't pick up a coffee mug. I got it from hitting lots of golf balls at the range off mats. The only thing that worked was a blue strtchy band with a magnet in it. Closed with Velcro. I kid you not, it worked incredibly! Still took a while to heal, but I could still golf!

I agree with Lorna2

I have had it on and off over the last tens years and it is primarily from over working/going beyond my physical abilities. I went to Darryl at Dynamic physio and am very happy with things so far. Doing the actual exercises and physio at home is very important. Communication with your physiotherapist is very important, good luck.

You may need a wrist brace and tennis elbow band if you don’t already have them. Avoid heavy/repetitive tasks.
