| | | ANOTHER Tim Horton's? | | |
I hear that another Tim Hortons is going to go up in the east end. Anybody know if this is true? I definitely think the East End could use a Timmys as well .. i mean could there ever be too many? |

I'd rather see one close to say Superstore, since I would rather go for a 5 minute walk for a cup of timmies instead of 40 min |

I think by east my source meant east of 18th street so there`s a good possibility that it might be near superstore.. or new police station (they do like their coffee and donuts) |

What's weird is the lot where the new police station is somewheres where I thought would be a good place for Timmies since even before Safeway closed down there |

Another place in town for traffic to back up because of the drive-thru. Just what we need. |

| | | another timmies | | |
would be good if it's in the right area. The one by Canadian Tire and the one out on the highway are way out of my way when I'm on my way to/from work. The hospital one is more handy for me, but parking is a pain there so I don't often stop. If "east end" means downtown/Superstore area, that would suit me quite well! |

from $13 to $16 for our new (Refurbished) Police Station. So why cannot the city lease some space on the gigantic parking lot for a new Timmie's, and with the proceeds from the rental income pay off the loan for the Police Headquarters? |

I would like to see one around the Corral Centre, not in the centre because it is crazy in there already. Or one just onto the low road, that would be great for people who travel to the base every day. |

I'd like to see a coffee and donut shop other than Tim Horton, not everyone likes their product. |

but I don't think our council would be as smart to think or even come up with this idea on their own.
WHY? do we need another timmies? |

with ya on that one brandon1. Unless you are lucky enough to get Tim's when they are fresh they don't have a long shelf life.....so many times I have had dried out product that I don't even go there anymore. |

| | | As for the location.... | | |
Idea supplied via the photo. I would have to say no to the locale....there are already enough accidents there as it is. Why congest the mouth of the bridge with more traffic trying to get a fix? Just my thoughts.... |

Normally this kind of thing goes through council before getting approval. Has anyone seen it in any agenda/minutes posting on the city site?
I know nothing about the size of lot they'd need to make a location work, but to me an interesting potential location would be the vacant lot on the Southeast corner of 1st and Rosser.
- a TON of people work downtown during the day on weekdays. None of their current locations cover downtown well enough
- major traffic shift underway. By the time ACC is completely shifted to the North Hill and more housing is built on 1st St N, there will be even more cars going by on a daily basis than there already are
- could perhaps relieve the pressure on their RHA location that's often talked about
If one were built there, it might also provide an opportunity for the city to further develop the park at the South end of the 1st street bridge. Ideal location for someone to walk over to with their cup of coffee
As always with Tims, there would be traffic concerns to keep in mind. Would it be feasable to have entry/exit off of 1st street or Rosser East?
Also with any new Tims, one also has to keep in mind the staffing concerns that they supposedly have. There was a lot of talk before the latest location opened up that they were having a hard time finding enough people... even going as far as having a "win a car" promotion to try to attract staff.
I've added a pic and Google map screenshot to the right-hand column |

build it downtown then? Give Forbidden Flavors, Ginger Cat and all the others the competition....why build it on the outskirts of Downtown? (I am only trying to draw ideas and thought, not provoke a fight here).
If it goes East (IF)...I'd rather see it more towards ACC....hopefully this would alleviate the congestion or issues with the BGH Tim's. |

| | | Downtown | | |
Also an intriguing idea (building right in downtown)... I'm assuming right on Rosser or Princess somewhere? The problem as I see it would be finding an open lot with enough room for parking... especially with the skate park and new Y taking their share of new land.
Any ideas?

Well, I would like a Tim's close to home! The Hospital location is just not ideal as there is no drive through and you have to park a million miles away. Its best left for staff/patients/visitors of the hospital. |

| | | Make it a kiosk... | | |
or simply an area, like they have at the BGH, similar to what Forbidden Flavours has in the TC. (one idea)
Doesn't have to always be a drive thru.....
Take one of the houses/buildings on 10th Street (200-400 blk) and create an indoor/outdoor patio rooftop, just like Georgies on 18th? (just an idea)...has this ever been done with Timmies?
Most people I know and see who work downtown always walk to their luncheons/coffees and meeting downtown anyways (for the most part)...the drive thru's are what makes the darn outlets so congested in the first place. |

| | | Off the major routes | | |
It should be placed on McTavish around 5th street. That way it is close enough to Victoria without the drive-thru congesting traffic. An yes we do need another Timmies for those who hate traveling across town or to the highway to get our fix at midnight. |

The RS could use some people traffic....I have been waiting for something to open in that space. They say they are ready with kitchen space available in one spot there I think? |

That would be a good location, it would be similar to a new Tim Hortons location that just opened up in downtown Winnipeg (but what I don't understand is why it closes at 10PM, it's not in a mall or anything) |

If we get another Tim Horton's.Will it go under like robin's donuts?Adam had a good idea, that would make sense. Why do we need another donut shop? I think Brandon other things than a donut shop. How about good entertainment for all ages of Brandon other than a wheat king game.Just a suggestion. Are people that addicted to Tim Horton's? What's the secret to Tim Horton's than from Robin's Donuts? |

Robin's success was somewhat thanks to a lack of Tim Horton's. We only got our first Tim Hortons in Brandon around 2001 or 2002 |

What would you suggest for good entertainment for all ages? Maybe you should start a new thread for suggestions.
I too, would like to know what the big deal about Timmy's is. I find it nothing special and I go to Robins when I am in Winnipeg for Doughnuts. I sometimes stop at Timmy's for coffee in Portage when I am on my way into Winnipeg, unless it's 10am, then I just drive by and go to 7-11. I get my daily morning coffee from Shell on 1st. |

there are a lot of other things the resources it would take to build a coffee shop could be used on. |

But it's private money, not tax money that will be used to build another Timmy Hos. People are going to invest in, and open, businesses that will make them money.
Timmy's makes a lot of money. |

Is there going to be a New Tim Horton's?
It seems to me that everyone is just speculating without any facts.
When people do this it is just spreading unfounded rumors.
I tend to take rumors with a grain of salt. |
