Loud music: Is it really THAT much to ask for? :(

4AM i get woken up by someone driving by with their music as loud as they can play it! come on... a Thursday morning? do you really need your music in your car that loud to enjoy it?
doesn't it distract you?
who are you really showing off to at 4am really...
I guess this is what i get for living by Rosser ave...
but really could you please turn it down a bit so at lest your car isn't vibrating...
just turn it down a tad after midnight would be nice...

Totally with you on this luna moon

I fail to understand why anyone needs to have their music that loud in a vehicle at any time of day. It's distracting to the driver and I always think to myself "what makes them think I want to listen to their music in the privacy of my own car?" I guess they think it's cool - in reality, imho, it makes them look ridiculous.

Must be the same guy that used to pick up our neighbour across the road at around 6am... the bass absolutely vibrated our whole house. Thank God that neighbour either moved or changed jobs.

I like music that loud sometimes. Its the only way to really make your ears bleed to the metals lml(-_-)lml. But not 4 am in an area with houses

I agree

no need for it and we have a neighbor that just sits in his car blasting his music for hours.

Another thing - why does music have to be so loud in some of the stores? One I can think of is Ricki's, I have walked in there and walked out before I even look at anything if the music is blaring.

I do like to listen to music, but I want to be able to talk to a person and not yell. More as a background noise.

I agree that it's rude

and that they should be respectful of people who are sleeping. But I would prefer people driving by with loud music/vehicles, than the noise I listen to at my apartment ALL the time. I live on an end apartment on the second floor, so I constantly hear people stomping up and down the stairs. There are kids/teens who purposely stomp so hard if there was pictures on my dining room walls they would fall off. Parents who let their kids run up and down the hallways at anytime day or night screaming. Loud music pretty much 24/7. So I'll trade you?

I

like my music loud. Doesn't matter what is playing, just the way I play it. I don't have subs or anything.

I think I like it that way just so when I sing along I can't hear myself

I like my music loud for the most part but its never that loud, my speakers and ears couldn't handle that haha. The only way to really get lost in music though is to have it loud, for me anyway.

Stupid cars driving loud on purpose. Trying to take a nap at 5 in the afternoon is not happening at my place. I live just off of Rosser and all you hear is, vrrrm on purpose.

I hate the people that honk their car horn like clockwork M-F at exactly 6:15AM, I'm sorry that you're either too lazy to walk to their door to pick them up, they don't wake up until then or some sort of thing, I'm a light sleeper, that wakes me up EVERY BLEEPING DAY!

Oh something else i am not a big fan of is over sized mufflers oh my gosh they should be BANNED! i dont think they make the car any faster... and who needs fast on public streets anyways... the only thing i look forward to with snow coming is people putting those cars where they belong in the garage

OOooo yeah the car honking is always a people pleaser hahaha i one time had someone sit in my parking lot honking to get someone to come to their balcony door for 30 mins! even though all they would have to do is walk a whole 50 feet to talk though the buzzer @_@

you realise noise ordnance bylaws are in effect from 11pm to 7am. That means if you can take the plate down of the honker you can actually get them into trouble with a ticket from the cops. After enough they might stop.

The cops can chase down the "serial honker"...our tax dollars at work staking out a building trying to catch him in the act

Be kind to these folks

You'll know who they are by the way the yell "DO YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT"
They're going to be deaf in a couple of years and need our kindness to get along in the world.

Loud music

Dont need sympathy, Cheeky. My hearing is fine. And I work at a job that involves a lot of listening.

I listen to loud music a LOT in my car, I've got two subs that really hammer. Do I drive around residential areas with it cranked? Depends on the time of the day. Lunch time? Sure. In the evening or later at night? I might turn it up a bit, but not to the point where it wakes people up.

Why do I do it? Maybe it's my youthful bliss. Everyone likes loud music to get them pumped up.

it is

not as loud inside the car as it is outside it seems. The noise you here is the bass of the song from the subs in the vehicle. I buy my kids stereos for their cars when they get one, bcause I myself like the sound of a good stereo and some bass to go with it. For everyone complaining about the loud noise that comes from a good stereo, should sit in a car with one and listen to it inside the car, and then step outside the car and listen to it. When it is later at night, all I say is ah, my kids are home safe and sound and go back to sleep

Loud music

If you really enjoy listening to music, the only way to do so is have it loud. Its the only way to really get into it, and feel it(no pun intended). I myself have a Sub in my vehicle and holy **** does it hammer. I listen to it cranked all the time during the day, but at night I turn it down especially when I drive down streets with houses. Thats just disrespectful.

Lots of times if Im going to write a test I dont feel comfortable with I'll play some loud music, or if I just am in a bad mood I'll listen to it loudly. Plus as Silverbullet so well put, you can really feel and get into your music if it's loud. Otherwise it's just background noise. Now like I said I dont go around at 2 am with it cranked, but I do enjoy a good sounding stereo.

Windows shaking

what's really stupid is when you are stopped at a light when you hear this rattling, pounding noise when you realize the vehicle stopped in front is vibrating (windows, licence plate) from the ridiculous base. YOU CAR ISN'T SWEET, your stereo is loud but your car is a piece and you should be embarassed that your windows are vibrating and your licence plate makes noise because your base is too high.

see this is all understandable i just dont like it "hammering" at night lol... and hey i think cars with a good sound system is cool but at night i feel the driver needs a good wake up call and not myself or my children
