| | | Snow Dogs... | | |
A couple of summers ago while walking/hiking around Clear Lake with Ben, a Siberian Husky, I was frequently stopped by people asking if they could pet him. He adored the loving and gave back as good as he got...what a charmer! The children would comment that he was just like the snow dogs in the movie!
Today the movie was on tv and I caught glimpses of these mighty fine dogs.
I miss him terribly.
Rest in Peace Ben. |

A few years back I worked a summer season up at Clear lake....an awesome experience! In my travels I found Ben in a shelter. What a summer I had....Ben was the best 'medicine' going! |

I would have been very suprised if you hadn't had a bit of a cry. It's good to do from time to time, I know my little Cruzr is my best friend and it would be pretty lonely without him. |

coming from Bright Spark. We had to put our male Siberian Husky down 2 yers ago know because of cancer. He was 14 years old. About a month later the hubby was looking through the Buy and Sell and lo and behold the Wpg Humane Society was advertising a 2 year old female Siberian Husky for adoption. Fate??? Well 3 days later we brought home our "Tonka". Absolutley loves people, great with my 4 year old grandaughter. She's such a suck she sleeps on her own fuzzy blanket at the end of my daughters bed. |

Siberian Huskies...gentle, affectionate, dignified, good with children and other dogs.
Ben was such a charmer...people were drawn to him like a magnets.
We welcomed Jock a Scottish Terrier into our home 8 months ago...now here's a fierce wee guy! I've got my hands full....right now the wee guy has one of his ears stuck and matted with burrs...do you think he'd let me help him out...no way!

| | | Missing a pet.... | | |
Some years ago, a beautiful German Shepherd cross happened my way. He was a stray that was just 6 months or so old (according to the vet). Anyway, he became mine and we developed a very close bond.
Sadly, he died unnecessarily - killed by a local farmer for straying onto his property - at the age of 2.
Since then, I have not been able to bring myself to having another dog. Of course, it is tougher now with kids that WANT a dog.

The same age Davep...and was also Sheherd cross.....was a looooong time ago....I think proably like 22 years ago.....we lived out on a farm by carberry.....we also lost a husky cross female who was a few years old. We had alot of coyotes out there.....my husband at the time figured thats what got them. We never did see them again....I used to keep them in the house with me at night when my husband was gone. Miss them both dearly. |
