| | | Vapo-rub on feet? | | |
I have had a terrible head cold, sneezing, mucus and such... I can feel it in my brain! lol
Curious... a friend told me to use vapo-rub on my feet, has anyone tried this? Does it work and socks or no socks?
Tiny bit off topic... could someone choke on their mucus while sleeping? (when this question first popped into my head, I found it funny, but I am supposing it could happen)...lol |

rub it on your feet and put on some socks. Do it to my kids as well when they have cold as advised by a doctor. |

I don't think you could choke on it while sleeping, but when awake if it's super thick you can... happened to me. But anythings possible. Get something that says "Exporant" on it you want to get the mucus out as much as you can. |

When I worked at Maple Leaf I used to get sick a lot, I found rubbing vapo-rub on my feet ( with socks) used to stop my coughing at night. The only down fall of ..... I am not a fan on the greasy feeling on my foot. But....the good out ways the bad. |

It certainly helped, I was able to sleep without having to roll over and blow my nose every few minutes...although I am back to that now this morning! lol |

| | | Cornish | | |
My Cornish mother in law across the pond has done this for 80 years in the old days before vapo she said they used campfor oil she often tells me to do it when chatting to her on the phone. If im sick with a cold or asthma, she say feet and chest when Going to bed at night.....guilty though I never have tried it :-(

I even use the baby version on my 16 month son's feet & chest when he has a cold! He sleeps "like a baby" after that! |

| | | Feet | | |
I have never rubbed it on my feet, for myself I rub it on my chest and neck, and it helps! I did rub it on my kids feet when they were babies, figured on the chest and neck might be too strong for them. Sometimes the "old" method of curing or helping is still the best. |

Lemon and Ginger also are a wonderful help to the respiratory system. I have used garlic, onions and ginger in our food and it also helps. |

and it is safe to use on children over 6 months I believe? I used it last night on my sons chest, back and feet and he slept through the night great after that.
Vicks does not claim that it's product relieves stuffed up noses...
"Uses:
On chest and throat, temporarily relieves cough due to common cold
On muscles and joints, temporarily relieves minor aches and pains"
and here is a site that has oddball uses. I wouldn't recomend some, and find others to be hard to believe...nevertheless, interesting to see how others use it...
