So sad to hear something so awful.

And I agree. The photo is in really poor taste.

Deepest condolences

Deepest condolences to family and friends.
I'd ask that out of sensitivity to the situation we please avoid assumptions about what transpired, I'm sure that information will be released in the coming days if the authorities deem it appropriate. Thank you

Very tragic.
Don't really have a problem with the picture, while tragic, it's reality.

It's a sad accident and a testament to the damages those big trains can cause. The picture is relative, it's a real event and that's the outcome of that event. Sometimes news is dark. But perhaps in time that picture can serve a larger purpose.
Condolences to the family of the person involved and i hope the operators of that train will be able to find peace with this accident in time.

Everybody

Everybody is somebody's child. How is this situation any more tragic if it's a young child or an adult one? Are adult lives worth any less? It doesn't matter who died. The fact that somebody died is horrible enough.

My heart goes out to the family. It's hard to deal with loss, let alone one as sudden as this.

Officers watch as a train is allowed to move following their investigation

Few details are known about a body found on the CP tracks Monday night.
A train was stopped for a period of time while investigators searched the area.
A medical examiner was on site.
Officials at the scene confirmed to CKLQ that the body was that of an adult man.

picture is rough

but its a fact of life and its the brandon suns job to report on the stories, good or bad. just think about what the emergency service personal had to see when they responded to the call, the images with stick with them for ever and not in a good way.

Um, exactly. So why share it with the unsuspecting public who have no warning before picking up the paper?

Pretty sure the paper can report on the good or the bad without showing photos.

Brandon Police

This information was released by Police late last night:

-----------

At approximately 2117 on 2012-06-18 Brandon Police Service received a call of a subject being hit by a train in the vicinity of 1st & Pacific Ave. Police responded and located a subject on the east side of the 1st Street Bridge and on the CPR main line. Police determined that the 24 year old male subject was deceased. Police investigation found that a west bound CPR train observed the subject across the tracks and obviously deceased. The crew of this train then called for police. Police believe the west bound train was not responsible for this incident and have yet to determine what train, direction of travel, & time. Brandon Police Service, Canadian Pacific Police, & Canadian Pacific Rail are continuing to investigate.

sending thoughts

I worked with him in Brandon a few years ago. He was a good kid. Always joking around and having fun. So sad and tragic.

So sad

I knew this man, very well in fact. He was my first love and I shared so much with this man... He will always have a place in my heart. It pains me so badly to know this happened. I never wanted to say goodbye.
He was a beautiful, bright, intelligent man with very much potential and so much compassion. I will miss him very much and my deepest condolences are with his family.

his family should know

This young man was in a 3 week class I taught when we both worked at the same place. You should know that you had a young man, who was bright, polite, and a caring individual. You should be proud to have had him as a member of your family. Words cannot begin to express how sorry I am for your loss.
