Just wondering

I haven't paid much attention to what has been happening at this new place, but remember all the talk about it back last winter and into the spring when we were told how large it was going to be and how many people it would be able to serve, so the question is,does anyone know how it is coming along and if there is an opening date.

couple of stories

There were a couple of stories on this new restaurant when the work started at the site, but I couldn't find any talk of an opening date and things have sort of been hush hush since the beginning, I know that I have been by it a few times this summer, and thought that maybe someone in the city might have some information on it. Adam did get a bit of information at the beginning but since then it has been sort of a mystery.

Guess it's sort of obvious that I enjoy Asian food, and I always enjoy trying a new place, I think that people in Brandon and surrounding area are very fortunate to have a great selection of Asian or Oriental food, I have eaten at many different restaurants, that serve Asian food, and have my favorites at nearly all of them.

...

I have to disagree with your Don, I would hardly call us fortunate for getting yet another American style Chinese restaurant. Now, if they actually had an authentic asian restaurant, then I would welcome it. This is going to be a 350 seat stuff your face with deep fried battered things and soggy vegetables. Not my idea of fine dining.

my menu

I stick to more to the chop suey, chow mein, black beans and pork, fried rice, noodles, ribs or any of the pork, and of course the veggies, most of the places I have ate I have been happy with the way the veggies are done. I don't know if what I consider Asian food is really Asian food, but I like it, and find it some of the easiest food to eat, I guess by that I mean it sits well with me.

Foody Goody

...or at least I am that is what i read, unless that has changed. We used to patronize them in Winnnipeg and the food was excellent. one thing I used to love about it is that there was not only Asian food on their buffet, but lots of Canadian food as well. This was great especially for kids or when dining with a group where some of the members arent fans of Asian food.

Ye's Buffet

From what I can remember they were originally shooting for early summer. Did notice Coke vehicles at the site a month ago. Have had zero luck from day one in getting any info through the phone and email contacts I've been given.

Thanks Adam

My wife had mentioned, when the story first came up, that maybe it would be open for the fair, but we are way past that, and I hadn't noticed much going on around there when I'm in Brandon, but that is usually earlier in the mornings.

Ye's

Curiosity got the better of me so went for a quick drive. In the window there's a liquor license application that asked for any objections by Aug 23. I take out of that that they must be getting closer...

Brandon Sun

There was a article a few months ago in the Brandon sun, it's a smaller chain from Ontario that is just starting to move into other provinces.

yes buffet

Went by the old Aunt Sarah's spot today and noticed a new restaurant which I think was named "yes buffet". Wondering if it will be like a foody goody? Anyone know anything about it. Looks nice on the outside!

Not Asian

it is NOT an Asian food place.
it is an "international buffet". self-serve food from many different cultures around the world. I have done work in the building.
