| | | Thank you to the East End Dog Park superhero | | |
Last week my puppy, son, and I were at the East End dog park when my puppy jumped up on an occupied park bench and his hind end slid between the wooden slats and the metal bar. When my puppy yelped a mentally challenged woman jumped up from the park bench pinning my young puppy between the wooden slats and the metal bar. Not only could he have been crushed but his hips were twisted and pinned one on top of the seat and one underneath.
A particularly cool headed man and his black german sheppard raced to our aid. The sheppard instinctively supported my puppy's hind end, and the man gently maneuvered my puppy's hips through the slats so that he was able to be removed uninjured.
I was too stunned by the event and too busy making sure my puppy was okay that I failed to thank either one. I am hopeful that some of you who frequent the park may know of whom I speak and offer my appreciation to him.
The East End dog park gets a lot of bad press, and people don't often talk about the good things that happen.
Thank you East End dog park superhero and your amazing black sheppard for saving my puppy! |

Thank you for asking what bench it was. That way we can notify the correct people about getting it fixed.
I hope to meet you some day in person!! |

| | | Bench was not broken! | | |
The people sitting on the bench were quite heavy and the wooden slats were bowed while they were sitting on it. My dog is still quite small (12 weeks today) and there was just enough room for him to slip through. It was a freak accident, not caused by damaged equipment.
I am very impressed with the concern however. I have always found the park to be in great repair, and we will definately show for the next community clean up! |

| | | Awesome that the dog was a pitbull | | |
That breed gets way too much bad press as well.
Ladies and gentlemen, the dog that helped save my puppy was a pitbull! |

| | | I do remember Tulla | | |
Funny, I do remember Tulla but I remember the dog that was helping Boston as a large black sheppard, and the man helping wearing a green t-shirt. Was that Ty? |

We came over when we heard Boston. Ty knelt down and helped wiggle his little back end out between the back and seat of the bench. I ended up kneeling on the bench to help open it up so he had more wiggle room. On a funny note... That was our first date! |
