Kuipers

For my mother's 80th party, we got one from Kuipers (on First just north of Richmond Avenue). It was delicious as well as decorated with an extraordinary design.

Great Cakes

I would highly recommend Bonnie Mills in Shilo. She has made two amazing cakes for us in the last month. Here is the link to her facebook page:

Just in case that link doesn't work search under Bonnie's Cake Delights.

Best in Brandon

We have had a lady making our cakes for years. They look amazing, taste great and a very good price. PM me if you would like her number.

The cakes look awesome, but the creations are clay and not edible. That's why I loved our cakes from Cakes by Brett...everything is edible.

It's a treat. Nothing wrong with occassional indulgence.

Besides - it's a birthday cake. Some things are just not meant to be healthy!!

:)

we usually get cakes from co op as we all really like the flavour and the icing isnt sweet and they can do many different pictures on top. however, we are thinking of getting a different cake for the next bday and i will def check out cakes by brett and klay kake kreations. for those that have had cakes from these 2, is the icing sweet?? that is a big turn off for us.

as a side note, the clay model sits better with me since we are not huge on icing haha.

Klay is great

BUT.....What if some of the kids/people want to eat the figurines?? If the 3D figures are made out of fondant or gumpaste, either will last if keepsake is what you are after. They are both edible and the fondant tastes GREAT. Fondant is made out of marshmallows: how can you go wrong? Anything you can make using clay, you can make using fondant/gumpaste too.

And that way you can satisfy everyone...

i checked out cakes by brett. she is definately talented!!! her cakes look amazing unfortunately, too much fondant for us, we dont like the taste of it. however, if i needed an awesome looking cake i would definately check her out for special occasions but probably for looks only.
