Rain

Looks like Friday was just the opening act. A real good soaking going on right now. I dont know as much as I should about grass and how quickly it bounces back but you'd have to think this is a good first step toward getting rid of all of that yellow all over the city!

It's about time!!

Finally, a good few days of rain is what we needed. Way to dry for my liking.

Can't blame the yellow lawns on just lack of rain. If more people took the time to water their lawns it would help as well. My neighbor and I water ours on hot days when there is no rain and our grass has never been so green before. Not once has it gone dead and yellow.

because I choose not to waste water on something as frivolous as a green lawn. Grass goes dormant during dry hot periods. That's what it's supposed to do.

I use rainwater (long since used up, so resorted to city water) to keep my vegetable garden and perennials alive.

A plus for the yellow lawn - no need to mow!

.

why you water your grass in the middle of the day when its hot out? when you water your grass in the night when it is colder it is better for the grass
