so. I have two battles going. One beatable the other who friggin knows!. When it started I said to the doctor that google was my friend. He shook his head and said no.. I agreed - do not second guess your Doctor.
That was about the end of June and I took his advice. No research etc. They know what they know. Google used to have cool google body 3d program in beta. It was a great tool just for a look see.
Tonight I just thought I would go to google to see if the program was still there. Just in case. It is gone and is now Zygote body. So I can freely say to the DR that I did not google my research. It is a cool free tool.

I hope he has the net at my meeting and i can point at my where the pains are and where he thinks they are( or related too) and where I say there are not. Now he is probably 100 percent right but I always agree with that saying a picture is worth a thousand words and Zygote body is a cool new tool for us health consumers.
Oh yes do not forget its great search tool.

| | | WOW | | |
Doug, Thank YOU!!
I do not click on links unless there is a reasonable description. You had a good description and I clicked.
WOW is the only response. This needs to be downloaded into every doctor's hospital and used to help the patient describe what is happening in their body.
It can also be used by the doctor to explain to the patient why something is happening. I will pass this to my chiropractor's office as well as any Physio Therapy office I happen to encounter.
First I shall pass it to my mother. |

Not trying to change this thread too much but for a doctor to say not to use Google for research is weird. A doctor used Google right in front of me to look for info on Lyme Disease, to obtain photos of ticks so I could so him what I pulled off my son, and the red marks that can occur with Lyme disease to see if they resembled what was on my son.
Turns out it was just delayed reaction to the tick bite itself and not Lyme.
Long story short, Doctor's use Google for research too. |

| | | Proper Use of Google | | |
Google can be used for medical research as long as it is done properly.
Too many patients are showing up in medical offices with the diagnosis and a link to an obscure web page that does not have any credibility.
However, my mother regularly checks with places like the Mayo Clinic for credible information about her symptoms and prescriptions.
Without the wisdom of medical training, it is sometimes better to leave the medical googling to the professionals. However, if done with some medical wisdom, it can be done. Just do not use your google results to over ride the doctor's better judgement. Also, do not use google results and waste their time answering irrelevant questions.
Use google but do not abuse google. |

i couldn't load the link
there is miss information on the net as there is great sites, know the difference and ask your dr about them, but i would stay away from any dr that told me NOT to research, you are your own advocate to health the dr is YOUR consultant, take their advice but do it with an educated mind |

Sorry Doug to hear you are having health problems and get better soon.
I agree with your doctor. I suspect he/she has just encountered so much garbage brought in by their clients that he shys away from it. Although I'm not a doctor I am a health care professional and am frequently frustrated by the information people accept off the net. So I can relate.
As Katwalk said. You do need to be very careful.
I also couldn't load the link but will look into this further this evening. |

Sometimes when an edit is done, the link gets messed up.
It may be a flash application that will not run on things like iPhones.
