Black Crawling Bugs?

I'm new to Brandon although I did live in the area 20+ years ago so I have seen these bugs before. Seems every area of the province has bugs unique to them.

In the past couple of weeks I've been finding these small black crawling bugs in the house. They have a hard shell and are almost as much fun to crush as popping bubble wrap - lol BUT, I want them out of my house! I usually find them crawling on the wall or across the ceiling. I kill maybe 6 a day but if I'm gone for the weekend - well that number multiplies and I'm busy when I get home. What are these bugs called? I want to get rid of them!

colour

Do they look like tiny armadillos? We used to get pill beetles in the basement but they are more of a dark grey...they like damp areas. They are actually crustaceans and fixing the moisture in the area helped.

new bug

I live 15 mins north east of brandon and have had a new bug this year... It's as small as those ground beetles but with a shinier "coat" to them. They are kinda greenish yellow shine to them... Any idea What they could be...?

there

Are strawberry root weevils. Very common and they cause no harm. They don't carry disease or eat anything in your house. They will only be around max 2 months and then they are done. Annoying yes but no big deal!

We

have them too, more than we have before... anyway to get rid of them? I know they don't cause any harm, just a bit embarrasing when you have visitors...

could be

alfalfa beetles, not sure if that is the proper name. They show up this time every year, more annoying than anything, just sweep them up and throw them out. They don't bit.

I

Wouldn't waste your money trying to get rid of them. They will be gone In a few weeks and will be back this time next year

Beetles

I don't recall having as many last year as we do this summer. It seems like every time I turn around I am finding yet another one on the wall or in the bath tub!
