I have to

say that as someone who has assisted in the hiring process many times, this type of question has to be the biggest turnoff for potential employers.

My advice to you is to check out the job sites and banks, and at the very least, call the clinics and inquire yourself. Those who rely on information from others as opposed to taking the initiative to check into it yourself shows a lack of initiative and motivation...two qualities that will prevent you from gaining employment.

I give this advice to you and all the others who pose similar inquiries on here. Do for yourself and you stand a chance in the workplace, ask others to do for you and expect rejection. Employers seek go-getters who have the confidence to do a little legwork on their own. Again, my opinion.

I have gone many times to clinics and handed out resumes... maybe its more along the lines of wondering whos hiring in the field and where I stand the better chance of getting hired when I go in to apply for the job yet again...

My understanding

is that when the local vet clinics are hiring, they post ads on various sites: eBrandon, the Brandon Sun Classifieds, jobbank, etc. They probably only hold onto resumes for a short period of time so again my advice would be to check the websites or contact the clinics and only apply to those currently hiring or those who state they will be hiring soon. Random drop-offs are a waste of time and simply give the impression that you are dropping off resumes everywhere without any real goal. I would specify on a personalized cover letter why you are seeking employment at that particular establishment.

I have done that too... I have checked here everyday and in the paper everyday to see if any clinics are hiring and as soon as I see one I am off as soon as I can to drop a resume of with cover letter as well of course. As well as done the random resume drop off(with reception saying they aren't hiring but would hold on to my resume) on the off change I will get a call back... running out of options really.. I have also called clinics in the area as well to see but I got told as well that they were not hiring...

I would

ease off them for a while then. Eagerness is a great quality but it closely runs parallel to compulsiveness. They know you are interested so keep your eyes out as you are doing and be ready to pounce when they advertise again. In the meantime I would consider volunteering at an animal shelter to gain experience handling animals which will be a standout quality when the time comes at a clinic (ie. you will have an edge).

No problem.

I completely understand how frustrating a process this is. Hang in there.

You could try

the Turtle Mountain clinic in Killarney, I know they were looking earlier, but not sure if they have hired yet.
204-523-7225 is their number.
