pirates

My little guy loves pirates too! You might be able to find a pinata in a parrot shape. I have a pet parrot but I don't lend him for parties (ha ha). At the dollarama store I found little pirate hats with tiny foam swords and eye patches. Chocolate loonies! hmmmm I'll keep thinking

My

Daughter's party is this weekend too! She's going to be four though. I agree that there needs to be a better party supply store. I've always had to order thing online for her party. Happy birthday to your girl!
Maybe make pirate hats out of newspaper and let the kids decorate them. Make cookies in the shape of something pirate themed.

teasure hunt or coin toss

They have fake jewels in the craft aisle of dollarama for a treasure hunt. If you want to make it easy because she is two, you scatter them like an easter egg hunt. For each jewel found you give a candy in exchange.
You can also get a bunch of cheap poker chips from one of the dollar stores. Spray paint them gold and then have a coin toss into ice cream buckets or shoe boxes. Every coin in gets a prize.
you can also get a large cardboard box and make a pirate ship. Build a pirate fort in the living room or under the kitchen table.

Here's an idea for a birthday cake. Did this a couple years ago for my son. The kids loved it.

what I was going to say! Have the "X" in your sandbox if you have one and actually bury the treasure.

Walk the plank

Lay down a blue blanket or tarp for the "water" and have them walk the plank!

Maybe pillows for the plank?

Lobster Dip, Crab dip, shrimp dip ~ wowing her or the parents of her little friends?

I am not knocking the theme party but the party is for the kids, not the adults.

Here is a site with a few suggestions for the children...

You

could also make individual dishes (see- through, maybe plastic shot glasses?) of blue jello, put a mandarin orange slice on top for a boat with a toothpick holding a sail (made of paper?) Kids like jello :-)

Let's be honest here, the party is for her and her friends mainly, but the adults also have to be comfortable and enjoy themselves....in the end, she'll never remember her party...after Disney World she has LOVED pirates, So the theme is something she chose, I would have rather fairies lol....but it doesn't mean I can't do it up haha....thanks for more ideas btw Much appreciation

.

Dollarama is your friend! They have lots of party planning stuff and it is cheap.

No need to spend a TON of money on a 2 year olds birthday, they won't remember it. A lot of the times, parents do the party for themselves, and to "show up" others friends parties.

Just keep it cool, and everyone will have fun

Yes, let's be honest. This party is not for the two year old and friends....after all you posted you are known for your parties and two year olds are not the ones talking and you are right, they will not remember it.

Keep in mind that there may be children that are allergic to the dips you have listed.

Let the kids have fun ~ adults can take care of themselves.

Walk the plank

At my son's party, we made a little plank over a tarp and made paper alligators. The kids had to walk the plank. We made a placard of a shark with an open mouth and this was the photo station, where the kids posed with their heads in the sharks mouth. We also made a treasure map, ripped it all up and hid parts all over the yard. Kids worked in teams, following clues to find the map pieces. When all the map pieces were found, they assembled the map which led them to a chest of treasure - in this case, it was all my son's presents from his friends. We also had a little fishing pond where they fished for their goodie bags.
