what do you do on Boxing Day?

Boxing Day is a great day to spend time with family. I know most folks out there like to spend their boxing days scoping out the latest deals or returning less-then-ideal Christmas presents but if you celebrate Boxing Day another way I'd love to hear about it.
For example, my Aunt and Uncle always take their kids to an outdoor skating rink on Boxing Day- a great way to get out, get active and work off a few of those holiday pounds…
…what is your family tradition? I'd love to hear from you.

I love Boxing Day!

I usually spend it with family, prime rib roast cooked. It is also the world junior hockey tournament, Canada's first game! I may browse the online sales to see if there is an outstanding deal.

Boxing Day

It depends on the year. Our daughter and her husband rotate between the 2 families. One year they do Christmas Eve and Day with us and the next year they do boxing day. On the off year we spend Boxing Day relaxing, visiting with family that might be around, and eating leftovers. We do not go shopping on Boxing Day.

i work

on boxing day as my kids and I do our Christmas on Christmas eve before they go to their dads and grandparents on Christmas, I would work Christmas day as well if we were open. but shopping is definitely NOT on the to do list on boxing day, I made that mistake once and I will never do that again

I'm with everyone else

I cannot even consider shopping on Boxing Day!
We like to spend the day relaxing. My daughter likes to break open new toys, and we encourage her to pack up any toys she doesn't use anymore for donations. We enjoy hot turkey sandwiches and just being together.

We do Christmas with my fiance's side a few days before Christmas and Christmas Eve. We do Christmas day with my family and we usually spend a few days with them as they are 2.5 hours from us and don't see them as often.
This year we are going boxing day shopping (I admit, it's my favourite day to shop and I brought my family over to the dark side last year....this year my aunt asked if she could come with me again lol) We will also likely take in a movie either at the theatre or at home and enjoy leftovers. There is also 4 kids so we will spend lots of time helping them open and break in new toys!! I'm looking forward to a few days of just relaxing and doing nothing!!

I usually just spend the day at home. I had to go out a few years back to get something on Boxing Day - I hope I never have to again. Sheeple!!

Boxing Day...

My Mom always said it was called Boxing Day for a reason... So everything goes back in the box! I continue this with my kids. Christmas is over and the house gets back to normal on Boxing Day at our house.

Back to work. The railway tries to have everyone home by 10PM Christmas Eve and the trains start rolling again at noon on Christmas Day. Once upon a time we used to have all of Christmas Day off, but I guess that's bad business.

Drive home. Go for a run and try to avoid the inevitable after-Christmas depression.
