Grant Valiquette of the OCN Blizzard has begun the new season off with a scoring bang, reflected in being named the MJHL Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week.

Valiquette, 20, pulled the trigger on five goals, recording nine points in total over three games. The product of Dryden will be in Winnipeg this weekend when the Blizzard participate in the annual MJHL/Old Dutch Showcase Weekend at the MTS IcePlex.

The runners up are 19 year old forward Scott Rowswell of the Winnipeg Blues and 19 year old forward Shawn Pachet of the Winkler Flyers.
