Columbus, OH (CKLQ) – The Assiniboine Community College Cougars tied the game up the game in the second period, but gave up a goal about a minute later, to lose to the Bishops Gaiters 2-1 at the ACHA nationals.
The Cougars outshot the Gaiters 29-17 in the game, but they could only get one goal past Jessica Caputo.
Bishops scored the first goal in the first period when Stephanie Cunningham-Reimann scored on a powerplay three minutes into the period.
The Cougars tied the game in the second period after a goal by Kenzie Heide.
But after getting another penalty, the Gaiters scored just over a minute after when Jessica Belanger put one past Cougars goaltender Brooklyn Elek.
With the loss, the Cougars moves to second place in the "D" Division.
They take on Adrian College at 6:15pm on Friday.
