Sep 2010 | I agree. I've started ordering my bras from EBay. I now pay $25-50 for a bra I would pay $130 for here. I don't always get the size right, but even with paying for return shipping I still come out way ahead. I'm sure fshn mgcn gave you the info you need, but if you have any more questions, pm me. Another website I've looked into is Bare Necessities. They have a good selection and their prices are about half of what you'd pay here. The only thing I find is that their shipping cost is quite high so the savings aren't quite as good.

Sep 2009 | My sister is also very large breasted, and has the same problems affording bras. She went to Diva in Grant Park in Winnipeg and found a couple that fit really well. She bought a sports bra and a 'nice' bra there, and spent the money. Then she knew which brands and which sizes fit, and bought online for a couple of years. When bras started to not fit quite right, she went back for another proper fitting, bought one or two, then went back to internet shopping.

Nov 2010 | It's too bad you backed out of the surgery options. Although there is risk with every surgery, the risks nowadays are minimal. There have been 3 people in my family alone that have had surgery. 2 for reductions and myself for a lift. I used Dr.Singh in Wpg, and I specifically wanted him because he is the longest standing plastic surgeon in Wpg. He's amazing to say the least. After seeing him, you will be able to go to La Zensa and VS or wherever you want to shop. If I were I would talk to my Dr. about it, 'cause by the sounds of it, you just might be covered under MB health, my two family members were. I paid out of pocket which was just a hair over $5,000. Best money spent.

Jul 2009 | If you visit the US a lot for shopping, stop by a JC Penny store. They have a decent selection and if you find a fit you like you can then order through their catalogue and purchase the same and have shipped to your door.

Nov 2008 | Have you tried Pennington's on 18th St.? I found that they have a nice assortment of larger bras and not as expensive as New Beginnings. Sometimes they have sales on bras as well.

Jul 2010 | Isn't there a bra workshop that comes into Brandon and does measurement and custom bras once or twice a year? They usually advertise it in the newspaper when they're going to come to town. Maybe worth a look.
For me, what worked to shrink the boobage was having a baby, but I know you've already tried that option and I guess it didn't work too much :)

Sep 2010 | i agree with looking on ebay and in the states. also, dont give up on AE/Penningtons. I dont really like their bras either but every now and then i find a great one there. they can also help you measure and make sure you are wearing the right size.
my aunt used to get the hutterites to make her bras. have you looked into that? they were pricey as well but she said they were the most comfortable ones she had ever worn.
things can go wrong with any surgery but i have a handful of friends who have had it done and wish they had it done years earlier!! all of them are extremly happy with the results. i also believe that reductions run less risks then implants but i could be wrong.

and yeah, find something in the States that you like and try ordering it on line

Mar 2008 | I have had a custom fit. I went to Diva in Winnipeg and also at New beginings here. They have fully trained proffessionals. I know my size. Additionelle/Pennigtons doesnt have proper quialifed people to guage your size. But yes I have spent money and bout over 5 bras from them, they just dont work for me at all. But thanks though.
I have started to look online, and found that there is so many kinds of bras. Just becuase you have a bra your size, doesnt mean it will fit great on you. I might have to suck it up and try a couple though.
I have not looked into hutterites making one. Never thought of that. Wonder how much they would run though..

Jul 2012 | Go to your Dr. and tell them your back aches all the time and your shoulders get pain in them from your bra. Which I am sure is the truth. They will have you see a psychic dr. for your sound of mine and make sure you need and want a reduction for the right reasons. It should be covered with your shoulder and back problems.

Feb 2011 | Don't go to Penningtons ! Their bras are not for us heavily boobied girls . I really didn't like the fit I got at New Beginnings either . I try to go to the bra bar in wpg , but lately have been making my own . If you can sew check out www.bramakerssupply.com . They are out of Hamilton Ontario and are very helpful and offer kits and good patterns . I can make an okay fitting bra for about $40 . I've only made 2 so far and they are wearable not bad fitting . It takes a bit to get a fit you really like , but it is a good option .

Jul 2005 | Hi Mittens, I too am in your situation. I went to New Beginning's this week. Terribly expensive and I know you get what you pay for. But I tried a few on, so I knew my size. Came home, looked at New Beginnings website and they list all their brand names. I then googled some certain brands (same as their site), and all of the were half the price as New Beginnings. I would love to keep my business here, but can't see spending $175 on a bra, when I found the same style, same manufacturer and same size on the web for $68.00.
Just look at New Beginnings and their brands and start googling!
