I have a few items for you, if you would like. I have a couple of pair of brand new size 10 jeans, a sweater, shorts, and some tops. Pm if you would like any or all of this.

I have been approached to start a collection of cash via eWishGranters so that this girl could go shopping for a new outfit for school for that first day and other special days. They want to make it an anonymous donation and I think this may be a good way of doing it. As treasurer I will do the paperwork involved so the amount collected will equal the value of the cheque.

I also think it is important that she has a good pair of shoes that are new. I was raised in hand-me-down clothes but it was important that we did not wear shoes that someone else may have re-formed due to their foot problem (pigeon toed, fallen arches etc). "The Family Allowance may not have been much but it could mean a new pair of shoes" was recently said by my Canadian History professor and I almost did a Drew Carey spit take because that is exactly what my mom would do - buy one of the children a new pair of shoes.

I will be out of town on Friday but if you want to donate, send me a PM and I will spend the next few days collecting the cash and then writing an eWishGranters cheque for the amount collected. We have $20 in the bucket already. Or we could just trust me with the cash and I would take mom and daughter out shopping and use the envelope of cash donations. What do you eBrandon friends think of this idea? Should this girl have one nice outfit in her closet?

Please I really do appreciate the offer, but I think it is too much, and there are more worthy causes out there. I will have enough to get one or 2 new things for her, just not a whole bunch.

I really do thank you for the generous offer, but really we don't NEED all of that. I can get a couple of things and christine has offered some clothes. She will have new shoes ( I have foot problems from wearing hand me down shoes as a kid it's something I won't compromise on!), we are not destitute I just need 'till the end of September to get all of our finances back in order.

Thank you all so much! But we really cannot accept all of that. All I was looking for was a little scrap material, and already with the offers of a few hand me downs we are well set up and happy!

Thank you all so much though from both of us!

HappyTrails, I have some nice brand name girls clothes and a couple of pairs of fancy jeans with embroidery on them for your daughter. The jackets, hoodies and shirts are all in nice shape and the pants are like new :)

I don't have clothes to offer, but if you still want material and buttons, lace and trimmings pm me, I used to have a shop and I have lots of stuff still floating around.
