Junior Project Manager (Construction)
About the Role
Keller Developments is seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with senior Project Managers, this role supports the coordination and delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their project management career who is looking to gain hands-on experience across all phases of the construction lifecycle. The Junior Project Manager will assist with project planning, documentation, scheduling, and communication to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to Keller Developments' quality standards.
Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or a related field (co-op or internship experience considered)
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
- Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and project lifecycle
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with teams, clients, and trades
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software (e.g., Buildertrend) is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Support
- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of active construction projects
- Support scheduling of trades, materials, and internal resources
- Help track project progress, timelines, and key milestones
- Attend site meetings and assist with follow-ups and documentation
Project Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
- Assist with cost tracking, purchase orders, and invoice processing
- Support preparation of progress reports, change orders, and project updates
- Ensure project files are organized within project management systems
Pre-Construction Support
- Assist with tender preparation, scope development, and pricing coordination
- Support client communication and documentation of project requirements
- Help coordinate with designers, consultants, and internal teams during planning phases
- Construction Phase Support
- Work with Site Supervisors and Project Managers to address scheduling, material, or quality issues
- Help coordinate inspections, permits, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with deficiency tracking and project closeout documentation
Safety and Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture across all projects
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
