King Spud Potato Transport Ltd is currently looking to hire full and part time Class one drivers to join out team!
King Spud is the all-inclusive bulk potato hauler for McCain foods factories in both Portage La Prairie and Carberry Manitoba. King Spud is located in Carberry Mb. We have modern and well-maintained equipment that is user friendly. We offer full time, year-round stable work that offers a variety of different schedules and off days which are focused on home time and flexibility.
Applicants must:
- Have a valid class one license and minimum one year class one driving experience
- An abstract with minimal infractions
- Have experience pulling and backing tridem trailers
- Be able to preform adequate pre and post trips as well as complete all necessary paperwork required.
- Be able to read, write, understand and speak fluent English.
- Be flexible and able to work varying hours as schedule requires
- Have a positive and professional attitude and be able to work well with others.
- Be reliable and able to make all shifts on time
- Be able to work long hours at peak harvest season
- Be able to operate e-log for long distance trips
- Have experience driving in the winter with a tractor trailer unit
Currently we are doing a variation of hauls:
- Short term long haul trips from Coaldale Alberta to Carberry Mb weekly. 1-3 trips per week (over night trips) Home every second night (May/June/July)
- Local hauling in western Mb within 160 km of Carberry. All loads would be going to McCain Foods Carberry or Portage facility. Morning and afternoon shift available throughout the year and a variation of both can be expected at times.
- Day trips to Saskatchewan with empty trailers to pick up full ones and return to Manitoba to unload. (May/June/July)
Who should apply?
- Full time drivers - wanting to work up to 70 hours a week
- Part time drivers - wanting to work less than 40 hours a week
- weekend only drivers - wanting to work Saturday and Sunday or a single day per weekend
- Drivers who have another job and want to work on there off days to make some extra money
- Previous applicants are welcome to re-apply.
- Drivers able to do longer haul overnight trips or a variation of local and long haul will be given preference.
All drivers are paid hourly
Canada life benefits available after probation period
Competitive wages based on experience and abilities.
We offer the ability to work up to 70 hours a week
Average Gross Salary for full time drivers $65000.00-$90000.00 per year ( hours worked dependent )
