Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Service Porter / Lot Attendant to keep our service department running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will be the backbone of the shop's daily operations. Your primary goal is to ensure our technicians have the units they need staged and ready to go, the shop and yard remain safe and organized, and daily errands are handled promptly. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who likes staying active and takes pride in a clean, well-run work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Unit Staging: Safely move and park service units around the lot and into service bays to ensure technicians always have their next project ready.
- Lot Management: Organize the exterior yard to maximize space, ensure easy access to units, and maintain a highly presentable and safe lot.
- Shop Maintenance: Keep the shop floor clean, clear, and safe by sweeping, emptying trash, disposing of scrap metals or fluids, and cleaning up spills immediately.
- Parts & Errands: Act as a runner for the service and parts departments, picking up or delivering parts, supplies, or paperwork from local vendors.
- Unit Preparation: Wash, detail, or clean out service units before they are returned to the customer, ensuring a great final impression.
- General Support: Assist technicians and service managers with basic tasks as needed to keep the workflow moving steadily.
- Facility Upkeep: Perform basic groundskeeping around the property, such as picking up debris, shoveling snow, or salting walkways during winter months.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (strictly required for insurance purposes and running errands).
- Ability to safely operate a variety of vehicles and service units (experience with manual transmissions or towing trailers is a strong plus).
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to stay productive without constant direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- A positive, team-player attitude and good communication skills.
What We Offer
- Compensation is dependent on experience. As an entry level position, the pay scale starts at $16/hour.
- Monday to Friday, 8-5pm (full-time)
