35 Head of bred heifers that came from producers in the Killarney area (bought at the mart)
- 31 black hided (sim x angus and angus)
- 3 red
- 1 black and white (sim x shorthorn x Herford?)
These heifers are not feedlot raised, they hit the grass on May 23, and were rotated using a single hotwire all year, and still are.
- I did not want them overfed as I wanted to keep some myself, and so that the fertile ones bred.
Black Angus bulls went out the evening of July 6 for 34 days.
- so the calving window will be tight!
I kept a few for myself so I do have skin in the game for getting them calved out.
$5300 but I'm open to negotiating on volume.
They are currently on oat green feed, alfalfa hay and grass.
