At just 38 years old, Israel Idonije has already walked quite the unique path for someone raised in our corner of the world. From an 11-year NFL career to founding the impactful iFCharities heâs been a shining example of what one can achieve by getting their start in the Wheat City.
The latest page in the story in just a handful of weeks will see the Vincent Massey alum featured in the role of a police officer in an upcoming episode of the Fox TV series Proven Innocent.
The series, which premieres in just over a week on February 15, is a legal drama set in Chicago starring Rachelle Lefevre and Kelsey Grammer. Youâll have to wait a few weeks for local flavour though as Idonije is said to be cast in episode 8. I wasnât able to track down an air date but that would likely put it into a Friday night in April assuming no large gaps in airings.
This isnât the first foray into television for Idonije, who has also made appearances in episodes of âChicago Fireâ and âHot Date.â By the sound of things the role in Proven Innocent will be bigger than that in Chicago Fire.
A preview of Proven Innocent was shared last year on Youtube:
