Our local Tim Hortons are known for striking while the iron is hot with relevant specialty donuts, and as title sponsor for the Brier currently taking place in Brandon you didnt expect them to stop now did you? :)
On the shelf right now is the Brier Donut, which they’re selling at Timmies locations in Brandon, Virden and Neepawa for the duration of the event until March 10. I understand that between all of their Westman stores they're making a little over 100 per day of the vanilla dipped donut decked out in sprinkles inspired by Brier colours.
In the past, themed donuts have popped up for holidays such as Christmas and Valentines. Once the champ has been crowned next weekend I gather the Winter Fair donut won’t be far behind later this month.
Also on the topic of Tims and the Brier, anyone stopping by over the first day may have noticed that they have trucks setup at the top of the East ramp all week serving up hot chocolate and coffee at the very enticing rate of zero dollars and zero cents for folks on their way in to check out the action.
