Firehouse gets creative with West Coast-inspired take on the waffle

Posted by Adam in Dining, 3/16/2019

We love it when restaurants go off the beaten path to offer unique menu items that folks might not have tried before.

Prairie Firehouse has done just that today with the featuring of a Cheddar Waffle with pulled pork and poached egg. Optionally you can add jalapeños and sriracha drizzle for a little extra kick.

The idea came from a current student of the ACC Culinary Arts program after a trip to Vancouver and dishes they were privy to on the West Coast.

This particular item is likely to be available just today depending on supplies, though the eatery is always worth keeping an eye on for different spins on food as evidenced by other recent features such as Apple Crantini Flatbread and Bacon Tomato and Goat Cheese stuffed with Chicken Roulade.

Prairie Firehouse opened in the summer of 2015 in the old Central Fire Station on Princess Ave and has since become a go to destination for local eating.
