It’s hard to believe that Brandon’s new Y building aka the Dood Cristall Family YMCA will have already been open for six years by the time the summer rolls around!
With years of service for a building comes maintenance and according to a notice recently shared by YMCA of Brandon it’s pool will be closed for about three weeks while a checklist of needed items are taken care of. According to the notice light fixtures, ceiling fans and fire safety sprinklers have been starting to corrode and are needing to be replaced. As well the lap pool has had to be drained to allow for tile and grout work. The whirlpool and on-deck steam room are however operating as per normal.
The closure took effect on Monday and the Y has said they’re aiming to be back open by April 7. The full notice can be seen in the embed below.
The Y previously had a temporary closure in place several years ago for its water slide to address an issue that had come up at that time.
