Fun news out of Minnedosa today as plans have been unveiled for Manitoba’s first floating inflatable water park on Minnedosa Lake.
Splish Splash Water Park is in the process bringing in a 100-person inflatable structure said to be akin to floating obstacle course on water. Pictured with this post is a general idea of the same concept at another park setup by the same manufacturer as the provider of what will be in Minnedosa. The actual design at Minnedosa is to be unveiled in due course. Those who may have visited Kelowna or Penticton may have come across setups based on the same general idea on their waterfronts even if not necessarily the same manufacturer.
For safety, life jackets will be mandatory. Lifeguards will be on duty, something they will be hiring for in the near term.
Targeted opening date for Minnedosa’s Splish Splash Water Park is late June, at which time the custom-built structure is expected to have been received from an overseas supplier. After opening its expected to be open regular hours from June to Labour Day.
Minnedosa has been in the process of making updates to its beach area, with beach volleyball courts getting a re-do and the pavilion deck structure undergoing renovations. A fundraising endeavour is also underway to update the on-site playground in the future. The Town also recently unveiled a new place brand, adopting the tag line “Valley life” in its promotion and branding.
