After a more than three month buildout, Delta 9 Cannabis Store is set to open the doors on its Shoppers Mall location on Thursday according to a company representative.
At 4,500 sqft the new Brandon location is said by the company to be one of the largest of its kind in Canada. Located just South of Shoppers Drug Mart, access is via the East-facing storefront with there being no direct connection from within the mall itself.
According to a December press release the store was to include an education centre in addition to its retail component. It will join a recently opened Winnipeg Osbourne Village location as the companyâs third outlet.
Cannabis became legalized in Canada with restrictions in October with Brandon having since seen a host of stores position themselves to cater to a market established by the change in law. Rules in Manitoba have set the minimum age to 19 and placed restriction that does not allow use in public.
The Federal government has prepared a page that serves as a resource for understanding various topics relating to Cannabis and legalization. The link for that information is https://www.canada.ca/en/services/health/campaigns/cannabis.html. The government of Manitoba has published a page with Manitoba-specific information including more on laws as they apply here at https://www.gov.mb.ca/cannabis/index.html
Other known upcoming additions to Shoppers Mall include Soft Moc Shoe Rack (April), Original Joes Restaurant & Bar (May) and a much expanded Bell MTS store.
