Patio season is upon us and with it comes a nice bit of recognition for a local eatery.
This week Travel Manitoba published a list of “6 patios to get to” outside of Winnipeg and amongst those noted is Downtown’s own Prairie Firehouse, whose outdoor space recently opened for the season. In the few sentences about the restaurant the fun fact is shared that their patio tables and chairs were built by local high school students.
Also receiving a mention in Southwest Manitoba was Wasagaming’s Wigwam.
Brandon not long ago could be seen as having a serious lack of patio options but that’s changed in a big way over the past several years, most recently with East Side Mario’s including an outdoor seating area in its South Brandon restaurant and Original Joe’s soon to do the same when they open later this spring.
Downtown has been on quite a roll with Travel Manitoba shout outs this year including Chez Angela noted as a top bakery and Fraser Sneath listed as a coffee shop to try.
