Brandon Police in this morning’s media release have issued an update on their investigation into an early Wednesday morning firearms incident on the 1000 block of 9th street that they say resulted in a 34-year old woman being shot.
Police say that after a search of the residence a quantity of Methamphetaime, a sawed off rifle and a long rifle were located. As a result Police have arrested a 33-year old male who is to appear in court on Thursday on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and Breach of Probation.
Yesterday Police reported a 34-year old woman being shot and suffering serious injuries that resulted in her being transported to Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre by ground ambulance. An update was not available on condition at the time of this posting, though in yesterday’s release injuries were said to be serious but non-life-threatening.
Police continue to investigate.
