Up close: A pair of deer graze in the city on Sunday evening

Posted by Adam in eBrandon, 6/24/2019

I was fortunate to share an area of the city with a pair of deer as they indulged in a golden hour snack last night.

For being in such an urban environment it was nice to see a level of natural fear present, with sudden movements or noises causing a response that would lead to their maintaining a fair level of separation all the while keeping a regular eye on me and anyone else in the area.

I suspect these are two of the area’s more photographed wildlife, with one passerby going out of their way to grab a video with cell phone and another stopping for several minutes just to take it all in.

Thanks to a lens that gives a chance to lock in close enough while staying at a distance that doesn’t threaten I was able to come up with a small collection of decent shots fit for a gallery and have included those pics below.

My kiddo thinks he's working on the itch again here. I'm not one to argue :)
