One suspect is in custody and another at large today after a robbery on Thursday night in the city's West end, Police say.
According to an account in today’s Brandon Police Service media release its alleged that two males stole and fled with two cases of beer from a business on Victoria Avenue shortly before midnight. In response two employees of the target business chased the suspects, only to be sprayed with bear mace while catching them. With the assistance of an additional employee one of the suspects was held, then later arrested and searched by Police upon their arrival. On search Police allege that a machete and slingshot were found to be in the suspect’s possession.
A 16-year old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre last night and was to appear in court this morning on several charges as outlined in today’s full Police media release at the link below. A second suspect fled prior to Police arrival with Police saying that their investigation into identity is ongoing.
