What was just a couple months ago flat undeveloped land has seen steady progress over the course of the summer even as details remain scarce on what is being constructed just North of Brandon off of highway 10.
As per the picture attached to this post that was taken yesterday, one building on a portion of Waywayseecappo First Nation land within the R.M. Of Elton is rounding into shape with some finishing touches on its exterior being worked on in the present.
Information hasnât yet been made available on what specifically is being built at the site. Earlier this summer R.M. of Elton Reeve Ross Farley told the Brandon Sun that at one time the plan was for the construction of a gas bar and convenience store and whatâs seen in the photo wouldnât seem to go as far as contradicting that at this point.
For what its worth, though their data source is unknown Google Maps has a marker placed at the development site with the text âWaywayseecapo storeâ for what theyâve labelled as a business type of gas station.
A larger portion of the land remains undeveloped, though some initial work appears to have been done in preparation for further construction. The same Sun story cites agreed upon permitted use of the land as being a convenience store, service station, truck stop, local government offices, restaurants and/or a gaming facility with the R.M. providing municipal services to the land for a fee . Time will tell what services might ultimately be offered to folks in and travelling to/from the city.
