E-commerce website Etsy has opened up a whole new marketplace for sellers and shoppers since it’s introduction in 2005 and now local folks will for the first time have the chance to take part in an initiative that brings local makers and buyers together under one roof.
Etsy Sellers of Manitoba is in the final stages of bringing together plans for their annual Made in Canada Market, to make its Brandon debut at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium on September 28.
The group recently announced the list of Makers that will be setup at the event, which includes a wide range of different participants from Manitoba. The 40 confirmed are listed below including local vendors Freebird Essentials, Mireille Labeille Art and Artiafora:
Also part of the market will be a Future Sellers Boutique, which is expected to include an additional 11 makers that are not yet sellers on the Etsy platform. One of those makers will have the chance to win a collection of prizes to support their future endeavours. That winner will be chosen by online voting and Etsy peers after the market is over.
Brandon’s Creation Nation Makerspace, which you may have read about in an earlier post in this section, will also be setup for the day.

Etsy Made in Canada is a national, seller-led Etsy-sponsored initiative celebrating the makers and artisans in communities across Canada. Similar markets are to take place on the same date in other cities and towns across the country.
Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. In an August corporate earnings release the service reported having 2.3 million sellers and 43 million active buyers.
