A fire on 10th street last night in the building that houses Princess Grocery resulted in the temporary closure of the 400 block as crews responded to flames that according to a report via Liam Pattison Photography were venting out of a second story wall and threatening to spread to a nearby under construction building.
Over more than four hours Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in a building that according to City assessment records was built more than a century ago in 1907. No injuries were reported. This morning’s Police media release states that the fire was determined to be accidental in nature, resulting from an electrical issue. As much as to the eye the exterior of the building doesn’t look this morning to be too different from what you would’ve seen yesterday morning sources say that there has been significant smoke and fire damage to the interior. More updates will be posted if available.
