On Tuesday evening following a home explosion on Queens Avenue East, emergency responders discovered a 63-year-old woman to be deceased. Yesterday it was learned that a 63-year-old man transported following the explosion by STARS air ambulance to Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre had been upgraded to stable condition.
In today’s media release, Brandon Police Service are reporting that upon since being released from medical care at Health Sciences Centre the 63-year-old man has been arrested and will appear in court on a charge of 2nd Degree Murder following investigation of the Brandon Police Major Crimes Section in co-operation with the Office of the Fire Commission that has since taken place.
The suspect was brought back to Brandon on Friday evening and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre, to appear before a Justice today on a 2nd Degree Murder charge.
Police have said that they will share further details on Monday.
