On the verge of the one month countdown to Christmas, communities throughout Southwestern Manitoba have a host of parades and accompanying events planned to kick off the festive season.
Below is what Iâve been able to track down info on so far, beginning with Neepawaâs festivities today (Saturday, November 23rd) and continuing over the following two weekends at a handful of other towns in the region. Where available a link has been included to each townâs poster for more details. If you have information on plans in another town in the area please contact me and Iâll be happy to update the list!
Neepawa
When: Saturday, November 23, 6pm
Route: Begins at the Yellowhead Centre, then East on Davidson Street, then South on Brown Ave, then West on Hamilton Street ending at Budz and Bloom
Earlier in the day at Arts Forward there will be a cookie walk (9-11am) and photos with Santa (9-12). The Glorious Christmas Wish Sale will take place at the Yellowhead Centre from 10-4 and there will be a free movie at 2pm at the Roxy Theatre.

Melita
When: Saturday, November 30, 1pm
Route: Begins at the Museum
After the parade the Bowling Alley Association with be having a Tea and Bake Sale from 1-4pm. At 3:30pm there will be âmovie for a toonieâ at the Strand Theatre (Arctic Dogs).

Minnedosa
When: Friday, December 6, 6pm
Route: begins at carehome, the proceeds North on Main Street
The parade will be followed by Moonlight Madness from 7-9pm, then a full afternoon of activities on Saturday (see poster) and a Skate with Santa on Sunday from 12-2.

Killarney
When: Friday December 6, 7pm
Route: Broadway Ave
Carberry
When: Saturday December 7, 1pm
Virden
When: Saturday, December 7, 6pm
Route: Begins at the Fair Grounds (see poster)

Souris
When: Saturday, December 7, 7pm
Route: Begins at the Legion, proceeds South on 1st Street, West on Crescent Avenue, North on 3rd Street and back to the Legion
There will be an after party at the Legion with Santa including free hot dogs and hot chocolate
