Santa on track for overnight Westman stop

Posted by Adam in Local News, 12/24/2019

The holiday season is upon us and with the calendar now reading December 24 the jolly old fella himself has begun his journey around the globe.

As one might imagine, it’s a full day’s work to distribute hundreds of millions of presents... a journey that at the time of this post was already well underway in areas closer to the international date line that were already seeing their calendars in the late night hours of the 24th and approaching Christmas Day.

As is generally the case, North America is expected to be visited towards the end of his route. Though variables at play such as weather and number of stops are likely to introduce some uncertainty, Google’s Santa Tracker would lead one to believe Brandon will be in the cards well after dark not long after midnight to perhaps 1am.

For most up-to-date information, you can follow his progress at https://santatracker.google.com/

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada’s hourly forecast, he’ll be greeted by temperatures in the neighbourhood of minus 11 by that time. A far cry from what he’ll come across in Hawaii a few hours later but also much more workable than the minus 30s we had here not very long ago!

Here’s to a season filled with hugs, laughs, giving, receiving and memories new and reflected. As day becomes Christmas Eve and as sunrise brings Christmas morning I’d like to wish you the best of the holidays!
