The Rotary Book Sale is something of a phenomenon around these parts. Lineups to get in on opening day, people packed elbow-to-elbow after the doors are open hoping to find a good deal on their next read.
The last sale saw an estimated 65,000(!!) books for sale and it all starts with books donated by folks in the community
which is a major reason why a common question on the discussion forums is when the familiar bright yellow donation bins will be brought back out and placed at sites around the city.
For those looking to recycle and open up space on their bookshelves I’m happy to share that donation bins have now hit the wild, with locations around town being:
- Home Hardware
- West End Sobeys
- Heritage Co-op
- Lee’s Restaurant
- Superstore
The next sale starts March 28th and while I don’t think the crew at the Vic Inn would take too kindly to you setting up a tent just yet I wouldn’t blame you if you were already figuring out how to get first dibs when the time comes ;)
