Kam Lung Asian Cuisine opened the doors to its new Brandon restaurant this week after renovating space on the cityâs Park Avenue long associated with local eateries.
The Kam Lung name, or âGolden Dragonâ in Cantonese, will be quite familiar to local restaurant patrons. Kam Lung Chinese Restaurant was first opened in the city by Sergio Lee in 1974, continuing to be operated by Lee and family until a 2010 business sale to Patrick and Nan Sun. After operation by the Suns for a handful of years it would close its Victoria Avenue location in 2018.
The new location and âAsian Cuisineâ name mark a shift to a broader menu, which includes not only Chinese but Japanese and Filipino items in addition to breakfast options.
The restaurant on Friday evening took the time to share its menu on its newly created social media page:
News of the return of the Kam Lung name to the city was first reported on eBrandon in late February after a discussion forum poster had noticed signage being installed at the 1650 Park Avenue location.
Now open for business, Kam Lung's social media page shows operating hours of 7:00AM to 10:30PM.
