As more and more stores find formulas to support re-opening during the challenging retail environment that has been the Spring of 2020, a new addition to the local retail landscape made its debut this week at Shoppers Mall.
Scorteus Leather opened for business on Monday, offering an assortment of India-made 100% leather products including jackets, vests, belts, handbags, wallets and gloves.
As part of opening week, product is being offered at an initial 25% discount until Sunday, June 7. The store is operated by Mukesh and Gayatri Patel, with plans to hire additional part-time staff in the weeks ahead.
News of the intended opening was first learned in February, withs plans to open in April having to be altered as part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Scorteus presently has locations in Canada in Regina’s Southland Shopping Centre as well as Ontario
The new Brandon store will maintain hours of 11am-6pm Sunday through Friday and 11am-5pm on Saturday from its location beside David’s Tea in space one occupied by Bell.
Shoppers Mall entered the second month of its re-opening this week, with an assortment of stores and services having sine re-opened in May with various measures in place as part of the ongoing response to the pandemic. This week also marked the debut of the Brandon Public Library’s satellite mall branch in space between David’s Tea and Rogers.
On a page specific to its re-opening, Shoppers Mall asks that visitors practice physical distancing, sanitize hands before and after entering the building and to stay at home if sick or having come into contact with someone who is.
