With easel in tow, you never quite know where you’ll come across local plein air artist Weiming Zhao as he works on his latest representation of scenes from around the region.
Saturday saw Weiming working from among the more visible locations in the city, just off of busy 18th Street opposite Brandon University. As he explains in the post below, the site selection on this day was about much more than the picturesque Saturday blue sky or the early afternoon sun illuminating historic Clark Hall. The time and place had particular significance in providing a stroll down memory lane to nearly three decades ago:
I suspect I’m not alone in considering this community quite fortunate to have someone of Weiming’s ability among us as he continues to capture the beauty we’re lucky to have in this corner of the globe and look forward to seeing what year 30 brings!
