Westman parents will soon have a new option from which to buy baby and children's items with news this afternoon that children's retailer Once Upon a Child is in the process of establishing a location in the city.
The chain, which counts two Winnipeg locations amongst its stores throughout North America, specializes in the sale of new and used kids clothing, toys furniture and equipment. Locally that is to include clothing ranging in sizes from newborn to size 20, shoes and boots, toys for kids up to age eight, books and baby items such as play pens, strollers and books.
The Brandon store will be located as 1240 18th Street Unit C, in a building that it will share with present tenants Supplement King and Wayback Burgers.
Construction on the North side of the building
The property had been on the receiving end of significant renovations last year as part of preparing for the eventual Wayback Burgers opening and to accommodate a future tenant in Unit C. Construction efforts could be seen well underway on Monday as part of creating an entrance on the North side of the building for the new store, with eventual customer parking to be located on the West side.
In a social media post on Monday, it was shared that Once Upon a Child Brandon is on target to open on October 1 for what it refers to as “buy backs” in advance of an eventual Grand Opening.
